September 2019 marks the 40th anniversary of Blank & McCune, The Real Estate Company, co-founded by Jackie Blank and Jane McCune. They were the first female broker-owners in the Iowa City area, and among very few in the nation, to break the mold of male ownership of real-estate firms.
Beginning in 1979 Jackie and Jane exceeded all expectations. Their guiding principle was premier service through personalized attention to clients, and this was combined with a strong sense of social responsibility and generous community support. This view continues to guide the brokerage. These legendary founders are admired by generations of clients. They are also held in high esteem by the firm’s current broker-owners and realtors, who have added the word CLASSIC to the firm’s image to honor the founders and the high standards of performance they have set.

In tribute to founders Jackie Blank and Jane McCune, and to thank the community for forty years of business, Blank & McCune has made a generous pledge to Strengthen, Grow, Evolve. This collaborative campaign led by The Englert Theatre and FilmScene is part of a broader effort to help build “the greatest small city for the arts in America.”
